The
Carol Farrell
School of Dancing
For
45 years, the Carol Farrell School of Dancing has brought the joy of
dance into the lives of generations of students throughout Connecticut.
Founded by Carol and Charles Farrell, The Carol Farrell School of
Dancing lives by the motto "To Live is to Dance". Each student, who
enters their studio, learns valuable lessons in dance and in life.
|
|
The
Carol Farrell School of Dancing is unique in its training program. All
of their students are required to learn ballet, tap and jazz to provide
them with a well rounded background in the basic dance principles so
from there they will be able to adapt to any dance style. Like Miss
Carol always says, "Once you learn the foundations of dance you can
learn any style of dance". As the styles in dance have changed over the
years, the Farrell's have incorporated those changes into their
curriculum while insisting each student take their core class in
ballet, tap and jazz.
In
the past decade, The Carol Farrell Dancers have performed annually at
Stratford Day, Lake Quazzy, the Milford Oyster Festival, Milford
Children's Fair, the Connecticut Post and many other venues across
Connecticut. Known for their quality of performance and the variety of
music they dance to the Carol Farrell Dancers always draw an
enthusiastic crowd wherever they perform.
Students
from the Carol Farrell School of Dancing all ranging in age from 3 to
18 will be performing a variety of dance styles. It promises to be a
hand clapping foot stomping event you won't want to miss!

Al
deCant Family Concert
Half
Moon Music
m is
catching! Al deCant's family concerts bring excitement, warmth and
vitality together for a lively and exhilarating experience for children
and their parents. (His music and character education themes are being
used in schools and classrooms throughout Connecticut.
Parents, teachers and children immediately respond to the catchy tunes
and lyrical wit of this veteran singer/songwriter/educator. Al's
original comic and soulful songs are enjoyed as much by adults as they
are by children. Audiences are engaged in an interactive program:
dancing, singing, clapping, marching, playing percussive instruments
and singing about caring, friendship, family, the environment and the
silly things in life.
|
Al's
musical styles
have been compared to everyone from James Taylor to Elvis Presley, but
he clearly expresses his own unique style of children's music. With
high-energy tunes spanning genres from traditional folk, rock and roll
to Afro-Reggae rhythms, Al knows how to engage his audience in singing
along, dancing, and having one heck of a good time. His sing-a-long
songs; "Wake it Up, Shake it Up", "I Don't Wanna go to Bed". "My Best
Friend", "Bath Tub Blues", and "Energy Cop"; personify the enduring
themes Al writes about. He says, "There is nothing more exciting when
families and friends are singing, dancing and making music together.
Mr. deCant is currently a public school administrator in Connecticut
and holds several advanced degrees in elementary education, media and
administration. He actively performs throughout Connecticut for school,
libraries, hospitals, local fair, fundraisers as well as private and

Tom Weber
Children's Music
That Real Kids Really Love!
Parents have often told Tom that his music is very special because it
unlike most children's music - which is sometimes so syrupy sweet that
parents are "afraid my child will get cavities." Tom's music is all
about the joys of being a kid from the perspective of someone who loved
being a kid and still considers himself a big kid.
Tom Weber has over ten years experience in early-childhood education.
He began his career in early-childhood education as an aide while he
was still in hight school. Tom progressed from aide to head teacher to
music specialist, and is now performing his music full-time - and
loving it!
Tom visits many schools, libraries, and camps on a regular basis. His
repertoire includes original songs that he has written with his wife,
Sue, an eighth-grade math teacher, as well as traditional favorites.
Tom's music is intended to get children moving, singing, feeling
confident, and having lots of good old-fashioned fun! |
